Meanwhile, I'm in LA doing research for a writing project at the Huntington Library, preparing for depositions next week in Tarzana (I started a new job in with a firm in SF; this is a real estate litigation case) and negotiating a few big-life things from afar with my ex and his litigation-minded attorney. Good thing I brought my own pillow. (:
We are seeing my BFF of 30+ years and her husband tonight: thai food (Jitlada on Sunset) and Upright Citizen's Brigade on tap.
I love visiting LA ... on Day 1 we had a fab nightcap at the Sunset Tower Hotel, where we bore witness to serious schmoozing.* I like that people connect here, if only to get something from one another. At least they don't fake it. Their intentions are purely selfish and they aren't afraid to admit it.
* Also, we got lucky. Channing Tatum was at Osteria Mozza, where we dined that night. My children are acutely disappointed, as I failed to document the encounter with a photo. The staff snuck him out through the kitchen. Maybe in my next life ... .
